Writers Dilys Rose, from Edinburgh, Scotland and Karen Knight, from Hobart, Tasmania have teamed up on a long-distance collaboration to tackle the same topics from polar perspectives. The paired poems are variously narrative and elliptical, direct and evocative, and are complemented by the individual and distinctive graphic works of Laurie Hastings and Polly Thelwall. The result is a unique publication which encompasses synergy and opposition, symmetry and dialogue.

'Both poets have a clear-eyed accessible style of writing, with plenty of pleasure on offer from their observations. Scottish-based artists Laurie Hastings and Polly Thelwall provide delightful colour illustrations for this elegant Scottish publication'
Stephen Lackaye, Edinburgh Review 126
'Rose's work is hallmarked by its colloquial turns and a grounding in dramatic scene, while Knight's is recognisable by its steadily contrived and delivered lyric, such that the poems in the collection move from a conversational to an internalised voice and back again. In the discourse between these two poet's sensibilities, the sensation of the poems moving towards each other and apart, they have produced a body of work that manages to be, somehow, greater than the sum of its parts.'
